The Way of Virtue - Philosophical Mentoring in the Athenian Tradition
"The unexamined life is not worth living" - Socrates
Western Philosophy comes from Ancient Greece - particularly from Athens. Greek philosophy was not a dry, intellectual exercise. It was a way of life and personal development based on attaining a deep understanding of life and applying this to our everyday actions.
The AIM of philosophy was not to divert the mind through complex abstract speculations, but to lay the foundations for inner peace, fulfilment and virtuous action. While this is not a substitute for therapy or counselling, there are many who do not need therapy but may benefit greatly from philosophical mentoring in the Athenian tradition.
My unique approach to Virtue-centred mentoring draws on the highest teachings of the Greek philosophers and combines them with modern techniques in psychology and self-development to illuminate your life's path. I have many years experience with Greek philosophical as a life path and Way of Virtue and studied ancient Greek at Oxford University. I have also studied meditation and various systems of psychology and have synthesised this wisdom in my practice.

There are also resembalnces with Buddhism.
But philosophical mentoring is for people who are not looking for specific healing or religious uplift, but who want to be more realised, self-aware and in harmony with their environment. It is a 'heroic' way of virtue and growth based on becoming who you are really meant to be.
